KRISHI VIGYAN KENDRA, WEST SIKKIM
KVK, is an integral part of the National Agricultural Research System (NARS), aims at assessment of location specific technology modules in agriculture and allied enterprises, through technology assessment, refinement and demonstrations. KVKs have been functioning as Knowledge and Resource Centre of agricultural technology supporting initiatives of public, private and voluntary sector for improving the agricultural economy of the district. Krishi Vigyan Kendra, West District of Sikkim though funded solely by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), is under the administrative control of Agriculture Department, Government of Sikkim.
Therefore, the Kendra is a complete blend of ICAR and the State department system.

A nationwide campaign ‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan’ will be launched from 29th May to 12th June, to create awareness among farmers about modern technology and new seed varieties.
